We'll be covering various aspects of NZ employment law in short seminars, and then offering time for individual help and advice for people's workplace issues. (Please note this does not include visa advice, though we have some great, trustworthy, licensed immigration advisors we can get you in contact with!)
The first employment law session will be focusing on workers rights pertaining to breaks, working hours and rosters.
These sessions will be completely free, and are available to any migrant or local workers (and supporters/family) in the Queenstown-lakes region. You do NOT have to be a union member to come along, though there will be information from a range of unions available at the sessions for those that are interested.
People who work with migrant workers who wish to upskill in the employment law/casework field are more than welcome to also attend!
Light snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided.
Thanks to Mana Tāhuna Charitable Trust for providing the fantastic venue! https://www.manatahuna.co.nz/
Lastly many thanks to Unite union for resourcing and supporting these initiatives.
