Opportunity for Health

Health is too important to be a political football. It's time for a 10-year plan.

Work in health, or care about how it's run? Come and meet Wellington North candidate Jessica Hammond and Wellington Bays candidate Kayla Kingdon-Bebb for a relaxed chat in Newtown, just down the road from the hospital.

We run health on a three-year cycle, even though it takes a decade to change. That's why Opportunity will work across the aisle to establish a cross-party, 10-year Health Plan. It will be a published, costed plan that properly funds our health workers, lifts health funding to 9% of GDP and focuses on preventing illness in the first place.

It's also one of our five bottom lines, the non-negotiable policies that any governing partner must agree to for our support. Our doctors and nurses deserve better than endless restructures. They deserve a bottom line that establishes a 10-year, cross-party plan for health.

You see where the system works and where it gets stuck. Tell Jessica and Kayla what a 10-year plan should fix first for staff, patients and whānau.

We'll keep it low-key. No photos or filming of attendees, and you're welcome to RSVP with just your first name. Please do RSVP so we can plan numbers.

Whether you're a supporter or just Opportunity-curious, grab a drink and pull up a chair. All welcome.
