Jessica Hammond
Jessica is a Wellington-born public servant who has worked on policy issues ranging from transport infrastructure and health and disability legislation to Māori economic development.
She takes public service seriously, and little makes her angrier than politicians treating parliament as a game, or as a means to personal gain.
As a mum of two teenagers, Jessica is passionate about child poverty, mental health, and affordable housing.
Not exactly the meditative type, Jessica is an “active relaxer” (i.e. can’t sit still) who loves bush walks, podcasts, theatre, costume parties, and lots of time with friends and family - including her Opportunity family!
Jessica stood as a candidate for Opportunity in the 2017, 2020 and 2023 elections in the Ōhāriu electorate, and is excited to campaign in the new Wellington North electorate.
