We're giving you an opportunity to try this policy on for size. Join your Christchurch Central Opportunity candidate, Eden Skipper, for a Citizens Assembly sampler on the topic of Superannuation: Sustainable Solutions for an Aging population.
Opportunity Party promises to bring Citizens Assemblies into practice in New Zealand as a mechanism to expand citizens' voice, reduce pendulum politics and promote trust in our democracy. Citizens Assemblies help to build cohesion and consensus in the policy making process by bringing together everyday citizens from a range of backgrounds to find common ground on our big national challenges.
You don't need to be an expert on the topic. Citizens Assemblies welcome all people, from all backgrounds, with varying experience with politics and policy making. All the information will be supplied in the session and volunteers will guide you gently through each part of the process.
Spaces will be available for both participants and spectators. In case of high demand, spots will be allocated to participants on a first come, first serve basis.
