Check out the 5 bottom lines we're taking to the election

Change is finally coming to New Zealand politics.

Across the world, politics is dividing people. Sadly, it’s happening in New Zealand too.

We swing left. We swing right. Every new government throws out the plans of the last. And New Zealand is sliding backwards.

If you haven’t been following the news back home, here are some headlines you might have missed:

  • Our environment is degrading

New Zealand now ranks 44th out of 67 countries for climate action. We are the only nation still bottom trawling in the South Pacific Sea.

  • Our health system is in crisis

An estimated 250,000 Kiwis can’t register with a GP due to doctor shortages.

  • Our people are leaving

Unemployment is at an 11-year high. Last year, a record number of Kiwis moved overseas.

It’s time to break the left-right deadlock

For 30 years, Parliament has been stuck in the same cycle. National on the right, Labour on the left, and minor parties dragging both sides to the extremes.

Opportunity is the circuit breaker New Zealand needs

We’re a new centre party and we aren’t here to play politics. We’re here to bring stability, evidence-based policy making and a long-term approach. We will:

  • Fix our democracy by regulating lobbying and political donations.
  • Create long term plans for health, education, and infrastructure so progress doesn’t stop when a government changes.
  • Strengthen our economy and protect our environment together, not at the expense of one another.

Our message is resonating

Most polls now indicate The Opportunity Party is on track to hold the balance of power after November 7. We are on the brink of making history.
