Robert Mason
Born in the UK, Robert arrived on these shores 23 years ago and fell in love with New Zealand immediately. After a career in publishing and advertising, he retrained as a secondary school teacher and has taught at a wide variety of schools across the Wellington region. He is passionate about building an educational landscape that is free of ideology and inequality, and which nurtures young people so they can thrive and succeed, wherever their talents and passions might take them.
As a dad of two teenage boys, Robert is determined to make housing more affordable and keep it that way, so that the Kiwi dream and the traditional ‘fair go’ still mean something in today’s challenging times.
When he’s not pushing his political barrow, Robert enjoys playing darts over a beer to unwind. He’s pretty confident that this time Opportunity will hit the bullseye and get over the 5% to get into Parliament!
