Mark Roach
Mark is a small business owner, who has specialised in music ecosystem consultancy and design for 30 years. He enjoys building and maintaining structural support for independent music creators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Mark was raised in South Auckland, lived his early adulthood in Central Auckland, and is now a proud Westie living in vibrant New Lynn.
Mark began his career managing artists and releasing independent records. This in turn led to him founding the national infrastructure organisations; Music Managers Forum Aotearoa and Independent Music NZ. This was followed by business development and marketing roles for Recorded Music NZ, and executive management of the NZ Music Hall of Fame where he was the driving force behind the landmark exhibition Volume: Making Music in Aotearoa.
Mark managed the bid and subsequent project management of UNESCO’s designation of Auckland as a Creative City of Music.
Mark is motivated by the opportunity to explore pragmatic solutions to benefit our community, our environment and our future.
Outside politics, Mark enjoys playing music, attending gigs and being out and about in the Waitākere landscape.
