Holly Knill

Holly is standing for The Opportunity Party because New Zealand deserves practical, evidence-based leadership and the courage to build a next-generation economy which works for all Kiwis.

Bred in Wellington, educated in Auckland and refined across telecommunications, media and technology companies around the world, Holly has spent more than two decades leading growth and product innovation in fast-changing industries.

When she returned home to Auckland’s North Shore with her family, she expected to see a country thriving on its talent and creativity. Instead, she saw an economy losing momentum. 

Productivity has stalled, living costs keep rising, and too many young New Zealanders feel their future lies somewhere else.

That realisation became a turning point. Rather than accept it, Holly undertook master’s degree research at the intersection of technology and economics. Her dissertation explores how New Zealand businesses can use artificial intelligence and new technologies to lift productivity, grow incomes and strengthen our standard of living.

Holly also serves on her local school board, mentors emerging leaders and supports school principals’ strategic planning through the Springboard Trust.

She is standing for Opportunity because New Zealand has the talent and resources to be doing better — and it’s time to start building that future.
