Daniel Eb
Dan works to transition Aotearoa New Zealand to a just, regenerative food system.
Born in South Africa and with roots in both Auckland and Kaipara, Dan founded a communications agency to help tell stories about rural innovation, community building and nature-positive farming. Before joining Opportunity, he launched Open Farms - a national open farm day to reconnect urban Kiwis with the land - and authored a Nuffield scholarship report: The Home Paddock: A strategy for values-led redesign of NZ’s domestic food system.
A co-founder of the Eating the Elephant writers collective, industry speaker and media commentator, Dan continues to be a progressive voice for reform in the food & fibre sector.
When he’s not driving a laptop or campaigning, you’ll find Dan turning his North Auckland home into a food forest, shifting cattle on the family-farm, surfing, deep in a history podcast or spending time with his young family.
Dan is motivated to stand by a strong sense of responsibility to New Zealand and to do his bit for the future his daughter will live in.
